The tech jacket
Technical outerwear is still big news. Look for simple, graphic styles and use them as a layer. Try one under your smart coat – you’ll see what we mean.

Park the T-shirt and the sweats for now, menswear is heading back in a smarter direction. That means designers are offering shirts with added interest. See Gucci for more details.

Another consequence of menswear smartening up: checked patterns are everywhere. This season, they look best layered up.

The leather jacket
It’s been relegated for a while, overtaken by track jackets and bombers. But the leather jacket is making a comeback. Think retro and buttoned down, rather than biker.

We’re rediscovering the joys of a smartly cut coat. Look for something longer in the body and with a roomy, pleasingly swishy fit.
